about Travis Ross

Travis’s path to becoming a tattoo artist and founder of an apparel line is unique but so all personal journeys. It took grit, patience, good friends, time of the road, setbacks, triumphs and more.

Born outside of Minneapolis, MN, Travis longed for life in Southern California. There was a brief stint in Las Vegas, but with California calling the 35 year-old, he landed an opportunity that brought him to Long Beach, CA. It was there that a deep appreciation for the subcultures of the various crews that helps define SoCal culture really seeped into Travis’s blood.

Landing an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop in the city of Los Angeles encouraged Travis to begin sketching and drawing and it’s become a daily practice. The time at the apprenticeship also gave him the education and experience he needed to go out on his own. His work eventually caught the attention of MTV and Travis joined the artist cast of their show “How Far Is Tattoo Far” for two seasons. The show gave Travis the chance to build relationships within the industry and it encouraged him to create his own production company. Since then he’s filmed a pilot in Northern Ireland with other projects in the works. It’s now been eight years that Travis has been tattooing clients from Mexico to Italy as a solo artist.

The Lost Cove Co. is now the studio, where Travis and his team of guest tattooers take private appointments and it doubles as the design shop for the apparel line launched in 2019, with the same name.
